About Us

ELMO Brahman Stud – No 1614, was established in 1981 at Miriam Vale based on bloodlines from Cherokee and Tyagarah Studs. From humble beginnings, we slowly bred up our herd based on quiet, fertile and functional females. Over the years we sourced our sires from Cherokee , Tyagarah, Rockley, Mt Callan, Palmvale and Bungoona studs, keeping in mind the importance of temperament, fertility and functional cattle.

We have always run a commercial herd in conjunction with our stud herd with our bulls breeding steers and females to fit all markets from Trade to Jap-Ox.

In 1998, we relocated from Miriam Vale to Baralaba. In 2004, we made the decision to disperse our grey breeder herd to solely concentrate on breeding Red Brahmans. Over the last five years, we have invested heavily in the Red Brahman industry, with the purchase of the sires standing in our stud at the moment, as well as the introduction of an AI and Embryo program.

Visitors are always welcome, so call in and have a cuppa and a look around
